It’s currently 10 degrees in Denver and let me say, Austin living has wiped my body completely clean of any memory under 60 degrees but I’m not complaining (except for now because it’s TEN DEGREES ❄️)

Reminiscing to exactly 365 days ago to my last big

Reminiscing to exactly 365 days ago to my last big trip (who knew it’d be the last for a while!), and also the most blissful trip in a beautiful city with the best person. Missing the views, the food, the travels, and the adventures.🇪🇸 ✈️ *I’m also insanely grateful for the privilege to travel, the ability to see the world, and wonderful people to travel with. Counting my blessings daily!!!

I’ve been wrestling with judgement a lot lately.

I’ve been wrestling with judgement a lot lately. Mainly myself, or the perceived judgement of others, so again myself. And self-judgement leads to me feeling like I’m failing just about everyone right now, including myself. It’s a crappy feeling, especially when all I want to do is be there and be everything for everyone. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But I remember 25’s promise, grace upon grace, for others and for myself. That doesn’t mean I receive it or take it any easier on myself. I somehow both shut down and speed up when I’m overwhelmed so that I can numb out judgement and failure. But oh how good it is after a few tears, sweet conversations and shared sentiments (and two desserts), that I get to end the day a little differently than it started, releasing a little bit of self-judgement and making a little bit more space for grace and goodness.

I’ve been finding small enjoyment in editing old photos and seeing things again for the first time. I’m taken back to The Burren on the coast of Ireland, north of the Cliffs of Moher.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Walking across the limestone seaside cliff, the ground is sturdy. I look down at it in awe that something so beautiful could have been created, and look up at the wide expanse of sea out on display in front of me. The sun is shining down on our faces after getting off the double decker tour bus. We spend a few minutes before the next tour group offloads at this spot. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I don’t see the stone for its cracks and lines. Or maybe I see each and every single one. One broken scraggly line forming into the next one, that makes walking over broken ground more delicate than if it was smooth rock.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I think about this year. Every heartbreaking and what seems like never-ending tear, scraggly broken line, and crack in the foundation on which we stand. And sometimes I feel tempted to just fall through the crevices. But then I see this photo as a whole. Every single crack and broken line in our year, not unseen or forgotten, rather shown on display, to remind us what we’re built on, the pavement before us and lifting us closer to transformation. Reminding us what we’ve been through, as the sun shines down on us, and we get to show the next group who walks on this ground that this is what we are made of, broken lines, cracks, and all.
